Much experience is required to predict how long to leave the slip in the plaster mould or to remove the object from the plaster mould without being damaged. It is also essential that the ware dries off in the appropriate way.
Casting is applied for all articles that cannot be made by throwing or turning, i.e. hollow parts like pots or vases, but also figurines. This production method is also used for handles, lids or knobs.
